Post-Natal Pelvic Health

Something I didn’t think much of before pregnancy and postpartum was my pelvic floor health. Once I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to see a pelvic floor physiotherapist to make sure that I stay strong and healthy since exercise is very important to me! Now…pelvic floor physio is VERY expensive, so I’m glad I had benefits through my work and my husband’s work to cover it…however, in the past few months I stumbled across Echuca-Moama Women’s Fitness program by Talia, and became an affiliate. Her fitness program is VERY good, and definitely more cost effective than going to see a pelvic floor physiotherapist. The benefits to her program are endless.

I tried out her 4 week program called Ab Rehab. This program is meant for right after baby, but even doing the program a couple months after was very beneficial for me. Her program has in depth videos about various aspects of the training, such as connection breath, activating your core, assessing diastasis recti, and more. These videos help you understand why all of these things are important after baby! She is very easy to understand and thorough in her explanations.

The app she uses is very easy to navigate and each day you will see workouts loaded for you, with video explanations as well if you’re unsure how to do the movement. There is accountability in this app. When you don’t do one of your workouts and you don’t see that check mark, it gets ya! You WANT to do these workouts because they are simple, effective, and take into account the limited time we have as moms to exercise (the longest workout I did in this program was 26 minutes). She also does a weekly check in form, and responds to you with a personalized video. Talk about dedication to your progress!

This was my one week review of this program:

“Just one week into Talia’s Ab Rehab program and I am already feeling stronger. I love how easy the program is to follow, the videos that she provides to explain things and she is very quick to respond to any questions you may have! With my core and pelvic floor feeling stronger just one week in, I’m excited to see how much stronger I’ll feel in 3 more weeks!”

Now … a bit more about Talia. She has been a trainer for 12 years and has various certifications including pre- and post-natal coach as well as certified nutrition coach. Becoming a mom herself motivated her to create a program for moms because she found very little support for moms wanting to re-gain their core strength and safely resume exercise. She wants all moms to feel empowered and confident in their body, not in how it looks but in how it performs! And…having a baby changes your body and many moms experience leaking or other pelvic floor issues. She wants to help you out with dealing with these because they are not something that you just have to live with!

Oh yeah, did I mention you’ll also be added to Facebook chats where you get to connect with other moms and talk about your fitness goals and nutrition?!

This program was honestly so beneficial for me a few months postpartum, and could be beneficial for any moms who want to feel stronger, or not deal with those pelvic floor issues (like leaking when you sneeze) anymore. And the cost of her program is much more cost effective than multiple visits to a pelvic floor physiotherapist!
